Texas art exhibit features Dairy Queen items

Galveston (WBAP/KLIF) – A fast-food favorite in Texas is getting some artsy attention. A wood carved array of Dairy Queen items was on display this weekend at the Galveston Arts Center in an exhibit called “Thank You, Please Drive Through.” Galveston native Camp Bosworth, who now lives in Marfa, created the exhibit that includes his carvings of hamburgers and hot dogs, french fires, a 5-foot-long banana split, and lots and lots of sculptures of dairy Queen’s iconic ice cream cones. Galveston’s Dairy Queen was destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2008.
