ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Arlington Life Shelter is raising money for it’s $5.2 million Hearts to Homes Campaign to build a new shelter.

Campaign manager Jim Reeder says they’ve out grown the old shelter, having to turn down and separate families. The new shelter will be next to the old one on the corner of W Division Street and N L Robinson Drive near UTA. He says it will double in size to be about 12,000 square feet and will be able to accommodate more people.

“It will add some additional space for children programming and dining areas and halls,” Reeder said.

Reeder says it will have larger rooms for elementary school kids, a teen room and also an open air playground inside the building. “We will also have a computer lab so residents can get more technology skills as well as several classrooms to teach class for financial management and parenting,” he said.
