“Beer To Go” Bill, Signed Into Law by Governor Greg Abbott

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Governor Greg Abbott has signed a bill into law that allows “beer-to-go” in Texas.

In the last week, Governor Abbott has signed bills into law that ban red light cameras and outlaws deceptive calls from telemarketers. This new law will allow people to take home beer from craft breweries in Texas.

In a Twitter post, Abbott said craft brewing is big business in Texas, but until now, if you visited a craft brewery and enjoyed what you drank, you could not take any beer to go. “Texas has changed that, because that is not freedom. So I just signed a law allowing beer to go in Texas, Abbott said.”

Abbott ended his online post with a thumbs up, a smile, and the words, “drink responsibly.”
