Veteran Themed, Owned and Gun Friendly BBQ Joint Opens in North Richland Hills

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (WBAP/KLIF)- A veteran-themed barbecue restaurant is opening in North Richland Hills Satruday at 11 am

The Patriotic Pig is veteran owned and gun-friendly.

Owner Marc Smith served in the Army. He said his business has come a long way.

“One of my neighbors asked me to cater a corporate event so I had to get a bigger smoker and then we ended up catering 250 weddings last year..so we’ve slowly grown to caterers to food trucks and now a brick and mortar restaurant,” he said.

A group called Operation Turbo will also be there to talk about their program to send care packages to troops overseas. You can donate to the organization at the event and Smith said proceeds from the grand opening  will go to pay for additional care packages.

The restaurant is at 3900 Rufe Snow drive near North Richland Hills Fire Station 2.
