The NE Tarrant Tea Party Re-Brands Itself; ‘True Texas Project’ Hosts Candidates Forum

North Richland Hill, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – 2020 Texas primary events have ramped up.

Last night in North Richland Hills the ‘True Texas Project‘ — formerly known as the Northeast Tarrant Tea Party — held a candidates forum.

At the forum Texas State Senator Pat Fallon of Prosper told the crowd of about 100 people that he intends to form an exploratory committee to help him decide on a challenge to long time Republican Senator John Cornyn.

Fallon said that he’s been praying for months for a “viable conservative choice” to step forward, according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Also at the forum, former Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne who is seeking the District 24 seat currently held by Rep. Kenny Marchant who is not seeking re-election. Marchant survived a squeaker midterm race by only .6%.

Van Duyne said that the District 24 seat is among 8 that the Texas Democrats are targeting this year, and they’ll have a “ton on money.”

Van Duyne has been working for the Tump administration for the past two years under HUD Secretary Ben Carson.

Last week, six of 7 Democratic candidates gathered for a forum sponsored by the Frisco Democratic Club.
