Retail Restaurant and Residential Development to Open Next to North Richland Hills City Hall

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (WBAP/KLIF)- A new mixed-use development is coming to the City of North Richland Hills.

Clayton Comstock Planning Director with NRH says The City Pointe Development will sit on 52 acres right next to city hall. “The mix of single family and multi family units, about 60,000 square feet of commercial space, putting in a couple of restaurants, a hotel and some open space…we expect about 700 or so multi family units on that property,” he said.

He said this is a good opportunity to bring some newer development to the south side of town, which hasn’t been updated in a number of years. He compares having this development so close to city hall as civic centers similar to Frisco and Southlake. “It really helps with day time population..we have a lot of traffic that comes to city hall that will really help bring people in to visit the restaurants,” he said. “People will not only be going here for shopping but to pay their water bill or pick up a permit,” he said.

Construction will begin early 2020 with a five year completion plan. “2020 we are going to see dirt flying in front of city hall relatively quickly and aggressively…things are going to happen very quickly,” he said.
