Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A medical doctor in Tennessee has filed a lawsuit against a patient for posting a negative review on yelp. The suits seeks 25 thousand dollars in damages. A legal expert, attorney James Bell, says such a suit is frivolous and in Texas an individual’s opinion is protected by an anti-slap statute.
The legislation which has been enacted across the nation is designed to protect and individuals first amendment rights.
Under the anti-slap statute in Texas if the plaintiff loses the fees automatically go to the defendant.
