Victim’s family appeals court ruling

New Orleans (WBAP/KLIF) – Botham Jean’s family is appealing last week’s decision to remove the city of Dallas from their civil rights lawsuit. Jean was shot and killed inside his apartment by an off duty Dallas Police officer who says she thought his apartment was hers, and Jean was an intruder. Lawyers representing Jean’s family have filed a notice of appeal with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans asking it to reverse the ruling by a lower court judge. The family’s lawsuit against former officer Amber Guyger was not affected by that ruling.
