Dell Foundation Donates $100 Million to UT-Austin

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation has given the University of Texas at Austin $100 million to be distributed over the next ten years.
It is to help students who qualify for Pell Grant Loans, which are granted mostly to students from families with incomes of $30,000 or less. The contribution will fund new scholarships for those students including one for $20,000 that can be used for class materials, housing, and other expenses.
According to a University of Texas spokesperson close to 1,200 students with the most financial hardships will go into the Dell Scholars program.
The partnership between the foundation and UT-Austin is looking to raise graduation rates among lower income students.
