National Weather Service says Fort Worth is Storm Ready

  • FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) The National Weather Service has certified the City of Fort Worth as a Storm Ready community. The Storm Ready program works in conjunction with cities to improve on safety and communication when severe storms hit.
    The program assists communities in working on plans to deal with all types of extreme weather. The planning includes dealing with preparation as well as issues that arise after the the event.
    To be eligible for the designation a city should promote the importance of public readiness through community seminars and having more than one way to receive storm warnings.
