The First City Sanctioned Poker Room to Open in Dallas

(WFAA)

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Just over a year after a private card house operator was denied a chance to open in Dallas, city council has given a thumbs up for the city’s first authorized poker room.

It’ll be located across from the once bustling Valley View Center on Preston Road and 635.

Last march, Valley View’s landowner objected to the proposal, but has since had a change of heart, with the stipulation that the initial permit be for only two years.

Construction will take three to four months, according to the Dallas Morning News. Owner Ryan Crow says that he’ll have another location in the Sam Moon Shopping Center on Harry Hines Blvd.
