BEDFORD (WBAP/KLIF)- Bedford Police are investigating an officer involved shooting on Circle Lane near the Brook Hollow Park. Police say one officer attempted a traffic stop and the suspect missed the turn and hit a curb. Police say the suspect got out of the car, approached the officer and said he had a weapon. “The officer retreated about 15 yards while giving the suspect verbal commands..ultimately the suspect continued to approach the officer saying he was going to hurt him,” said Sergeant Ty Stillman with the Bedford Police Department. He said the officer shot the suspect in the leg. Police said there was a small scuffle and the officer suffered a broken arm and is being treated. The suspect is also at a local hospital and will be released into custody once treated.
