DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) Large numbers of people moving into Texas and a strong economy will most likely increase housing prices in the state.
The Dallas Fort Worth area, though, might not see those rising housing prices. According to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University, median home prices in Texas could grow at twice the rate of last year.
Property data specialists at Core Logic say that in the Metroplex, though mortgage payments on lower and median-priced homes, especially, will stay steady because of the Dallas and Fort Worth construction boom and low long term interests rates.
In the DFW area, housing prices rose 8% in January from January 2019.
The North Texas area led the nation in new home construction in 2019. Houston was second.
