DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday. It’s the day before Ash Wednesday, when many Christians start the lent season leading up to Easter.

Lots of Christians fast during lent, so the name “Fat Tuesday” refers to the last day that many will be eating rich and fatty foods for a while.

Just to name a few, places like ‘House of Blues’ in Dallas, ‘Revelers Hall in Oak Cliff’, & ‘Legacy Hall’ in Plano, will be celebrating. Many restaurants & clubs throughout the DFW Metroplex will offer live Jazz & drink specials, while serving up traditional favorites like king cake, crawfish, & red beans & rice.
