Trial Begins in Shavon Randle Kidnapping Case

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – More than two years after a kidnapped 13-year old girl was found dead in an abandoned house in Oak Cliff, the trial for one of the men allegedly involved begins today.

Shavon Randle of Lancaster was the innocent victim in a case involving retaliation over stolen drug money. Randle’s body and the body of 19-year Michael Titus were found in the house on Kiest Boulevard in July 2017.

Shavon’s aunt Rosina Randle testified Monday about the moment she realized Shavon was gone.

“I was really nervous because I didn’t know what was going on,” Randle said. “I was just trying to figure out where’s my niece at.”

Lancaster Officer Jason Tapscott said something didn’t feel right.

“Rosina was adamant that this was something that was totally out of character for Shavon,” Tapscott said.

Six men have been charged for what Police believe was retaliation over stolen drug money. Two of them are already in federal prison. Desmond Jones is on trial this week in the case on a charge of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
