Hotline Open for North Texans Struggling with Mental Health Issues Prompted by Coronavirus Concerns

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A hotline is now open for North Texans struggling with mental health issues prompted by concerns over coronavirus.

Mental health experts believe fears and restrictions surrounding COVID-19 are triggering depression or anxiety for many North Texans. Tate Ringer with Metrocare Services in Dallas said Tuesday that medical experts are standing by to help anyone who needs to talk.

“Everyone has heightened anxiety with uncertainty,” said Ringer. “If you have have underlying anxiety disorder or maybe you’ve just been borderline and haven’t reached out in the past this has tipped you over the edge.”

Medical experts are available for a simple conversation or to connect a caller with a doctor via telehealth if needed. The number for the hotline is 214-743-1215.
