Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The patriarch of the Dallas Zoo’s gorilla family troop has died. Subira was 24, and had been a resident of the zoo for 6 years. The zoo says he died of heart disease. The Dallas Zoo has been closed since mid-March because of concerns about the Coronavirus. Zookeepers say Subira was a loving, patient, and gentle silverback, and an excellent father to the two young gorillas he sired.
