Experience a Virtual Fort Worth: Visit Fort Worth Releases New Social Distancing Content

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Visit Fort Worth, the city’s tourist information center, is providing ways residents can enjoy Fort Worth from home.

During this time of uncertainty, Visit Fort Worth is shifting its attention away from tourists to residents. Mitch Whitten executive vice president of marketing and strategy for Visit Fort said their website gives ways residents can enjoy a virtual Fort Worth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Seven new blogs were released highlighting virtual ways visitors and locals can explore the city. Featured content includes Fort Worth Stories Season 1 and 2, a Culinary Series and the newly-produced Diverse Fort Worth videos. Popular attractions that have gone “digital,” like the Fort Worth Zoo, Artes de la Rosa, the Museums of the Cultural District, the Fort Worth Herd and the Fort Worth Public Library, are also mentioned.

Visit Fort Worth is promoting attractions and businesses suffering during this time and how you can help support them.

In partnership with the City of Fort Worth, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and others, the Visit Fort Worth homepage FortWorth.com has been restructured to serve as a resource for information on restaurant curbside and delivery options, small-business resources, event cancellations and postponements and COVID-19 health resources.

“We have shifted our focus from inviting visitors to helping the hospitality industry,” said Whitten, “Our team is working to produce new content and curate information for small businesses, the creative industry and our residents. We know travel will come back strong; in the meantime, we are here to support our community.”
