COVID-19 Infects Over 2,900 North Texans, Claiming 57 Lives

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Tarrant County Coronavirus fatality rate is twice that of Dallas and Collin counties.  The number of COVID-19 cases in the Metroplex has eclipsed 2,900. meanwhile, Tarrant county has the highest fatality rate at 3.1%.  Denton county’s death rate is 2.1%, while Dallas and Collin sit at 1.5%.

Dallas county reports the most cases with 1,432. Tarrant has 637, Denton 426, and Collin has 406.  The Metroplex reported 194 new cases of coronavirus, Thursday, bringing the overall total to 2,901, a 7.1% increase in new cases.

The COVID-19 death toll in North Texas has reached 57, reflecting a 2% fatality rate in the Metroplex. 7 more D-F-W residents have died since the previous day.  Statewide, there are 10,400 cases and more than 200 fatalities with a death rate around 2%.

DALLAS COUNTY: 1,432 CASES (108 NEW), 22 DEATHS
TARRANT COUNTY: 637 CASES (30 NEW), 20 DEATHS
DENTON COUNTY: 426 CASES (28 NEW), 9 DEATHS
COLLIN COUNTY: 406 CASES (28 NEW), 6 DEATHS
