DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas County has opened COVID-19 testing to retail workers who continue to work essential jobs at places like Tom Thumb, Walmart and Costco as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Dallas County Judge Clay announced Monday that testing at the American Airlines Center and Ellis Davis Field House in Dallas is open to “all grocery, big box store and other essential in-person workers regardless of symptoms.”

When testing initially began, it was open to healthcare workers, first responders, people over 65 and other demographics vulnerable to coronavirus.

Anyone else who wants a test needs to have a temperature of 99.6 or higher to get one.

The situation comes at a time when Dallas County, the hardest hit in North Texas, continues to see new cases.

The county reported another 104 confirmed COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the total number of cases to 2,428 and 60 deaths.
