FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- You can participate in Fort Worth’s annual Trash Bash event virtually, just in time for Earth Day.
For nearly 30 years, the Tarrant Regional Water District has hosted Trash Bash for residents to clean the Trinity River. “Everything ends up in the river through water ways and storm drains, even in your own neighborhood,” said Trash Bash Coordinator Tina Nickloic. “So this year instead of calling everyone to the river, given the current circumstances, we wanted to make sure people didn’t forget and keep the tradition of Trash Bash alive,” she said.
Beginning April 22, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, through April 25, show support for the Trinity River by participating in a series of daily activities.
The schedule of activities:
April 22: Coloring pages.
April 23: AdLib story.
April 24: Call for kid artists.
April 25: Trash Bash Virtual Celebration (there will be giveaways!).
Nickloic also stresses the importance of doing your part in your neighborhood. If you see trash, pick it up using gloves.
To receive the activities via email, sign-up for the Virtual Trash Bash.
