WATCH: Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price Tests Negative for COVID-19

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price has tested negative for COVID-19.

Mayor Price said she took the test after coming into contact with a city worker who tested positive. In the video, Price said she found out that she came into contact with another staff member who tested positive and will be self isolating as a precaution. “I’m going to remain cautious and vigilant and lead by example. I will continue to maintain all the precautions and measures that we tell you to do,” said Price.

Price said her and her husband will log if they experience any symptoms and said it’s best to be overly cautious. “Act as if you tested positive and stay home,”Price said.

Price said more testing is the key to getting a handle on the pandemic.

Governor Greg Abbott announced Tuesday the National Guard will help with testing throughout the state and that will include Fort Worth.

Price said there is 553 positive cases in Fort Worth, 24 deaths and 95 recovered cases.
