13 Thousand Donated PPE Masks to be Donated to In-Need DFW Businesses

DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – The founder and CEO of Sando Capital Partners says he’s used Asian business connections to land 13,000 Personal Protective Equipment masks from China that will be donated Friday to UT Southwestern Medical Center, the Dallas based restaurant group 8.0, and Southwest Airlines flight attendants.

Sando says he located a Chinese manufacturer that had converted operations making clothing to surgical masks in a facility registered with the U S Food and Drug Administration.  The idea began while investigating a small purchase of masks for his employee’s needs.

Sando says he’s partnering now with the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas to enable the purchase of additional PPE.  Currently transporting the equipment from China to the United States can be difficult, and take 4-6 weeks to deliver to the U.S.  They are currently looking into the idea of private planes flying them over.  Sando says he’s working with the law firm Alston & Bird to ensure all import requirements are met.

The donation of masks on Friday to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center takes place at that site at 12 noon on Friday.
