Will Texas’ Unemployment Benefits Fund Run Out of Money?

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has paid out $1.7 billion dollars in unemployment benefits amid the coronavirus pandemic; some of those funds are part of the federal stimulus package.

With some $900-million dollars left in TWC’s bank account, state officials are looking at opens to replenish the fund before it’s depleted?

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar told WFAA’s ‘Inside Texas Politics’ that he’s mulling over the possibility of using some of the federal relief money coming to the state for the unemployment trust fund.
