PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – First responders believe fear could be leading to a decrease in 9-1-1 calls this spring.
Plano Fire-Rescue said Tuesday that after a busy January, 9-1-1 calls dropped off, for non-COVID calls as the coronavirus started. The department is now at roughly 700 fewer runs than this time last year.
“There is concern that fear is rampant in the community, and as a result of that fear, people who need emergency medical attention are not seeking it,” said City Spokesman, Steve Stoler.
Chief Sam Greif produced a video encouraging people to “Don’t Hesitate – If You Need Help, We’re Ready to Care for You!”
