Athletes at 4 Texas universities may soon return to their schools

Irving (WBAP/KLIF) – College athletes in the Big 12 Conference, and the SEC now have permission to return to their schools for voluntary workouts. Big 12 presidents and chancellors on Friday okayed the return of football players to their campuses on June 15 for conditioning and workouts. Their schools will have to abide by local and state protocols, and best health practices relating to COVID-19. Other fall sport athletes can return July 1. Winter and spring sports athletes have a July 15 target day.
Earlier in the day Friday, SEC presidents voted to allow “voluntary, in-person athletics activities” on their campuses beginning June 8.
