Criminal Case Against Attorney General Ken Paxton Moved Back to Collin County

HOUSTON (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s criminal case has been moved yet again.

Years after the case was sent to Harris County, State District Judge Robert Johnson of Houston, who was presiding over the criminal case of Ken Paxton, has decided to move his trial to Collin County, Paxton’s home county and where his alleged crimes took place.

Paxton was indicted on federal securities fraud charges nearly five years ago and his case has been delayed multiple time since. His case was moved to Harris County after prosecutors claimed they could not get a fair trail in Collin County.

Dan Cogdell of the Cogdell Law Firm agrees with the judge’s decision to move it back to Collin County,

“We are gratified by the court’s ruling and look forward to getting Mr. Paxton’s case back on track. this case has gone on far too long,” said Cogdell.

Paxton, who was re-elected in 2018, has pleaded not guilty to all criminal charges but could face up to 99 years in prison if convicted.
