(WBAP/KLIF) — Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley is expressing frustration with Colleyville city leaders for not supporting the county’s new mask order. In an attempt to curb the rise in COVID-19 infections, Whitley feels the order is essential and blasted Colleyville city leaders for their response.
Colleyville city posted a message on Facebook that indicated the city would not enforce the face covering order. Businesses could be fined up to $1,000 for not requiring employees and visitors to wear masks. However, the enforcement of the order is left to municipalities.
Tarrant county’s mask ordinance is set to go into effect tonight at 6:00 pm. It orders businesses to require masks inside their establishments. WFAA reports that Tarrant county has over 10,000 COVID-19 cases as of Thursday.
