North Texas Hits 51,000 Positive COVID-19 Tests

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Metroplex has hit 51,000 cases of the Coronavirus. Dallas county reported 1,077 additional positive cases of COVID-19, while Tarrant county showed 757 new cases. Collin and Denton counties combined for 174 newly infected residents.

In all, Dallas county has recorded over 28,000 cases since the pandemic began, while Tarrant county lists more than 15,500.  Collin county surpassed 3,800 positive tests and Denton is approaching 3,500 Coronavirus infections.

North Texas experienced over 2,000 additional cases of COVID-19, Tuesday.  The death toll in the Metroplex sits at 745.  Over half of the dead are in Dallas county. The county’s 410 fatalities is followed by Tarrant county with 248, Collin with 50, and Denton county listing 37.

Texas reports over 210,500 cases of the virus with more than 2,700 deaths. The Texas mortality rate has fallen to 1.3%, almost half of what it was in March.
