Denton and Garland ISD Make Plans For the Upcoming School Year

(WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- The COVID-19 pandemic has made many question how the upcoming school year will happen.

Denton and Garland ISD have both began taking steps towards a safe semester.

WFAA-TV reports Denton ISD made the decision on Thursday to push back the beginning of school by two weeks. They will now start school on August 26th.

Garland ISD took more extreme precautions and made the decision to begin school as scheduled on August 10th but students will be taking exclusively online classes until August 28th. During this time teachers and staff will begin rehearsing safety and sanitation procedures. After that students will begin their choice of online or in person instruction.Students and parents will be able to make this choice starting July 13th.
