Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – It was a dinner of gratitude hosted by the Northwest Tarrant Lions Club for Fort Worth law enforcement who were assigned to work recent protests in the city.

Fort Worth police officer and constables were alerted to the gesture of gratitude by way of vouchers for two to Angelo’s Barbeque.
The vouchers allowed officers and a guest to order whatever they wanted … all courtesy of the NW Tarrant Lions Club.
Tim Matheus with the Lions Club says they wanted told our newsroom that the group just wanted to show their gratitude of all of the officers’ extra work. He says images from some of the protesters got “really ugly,” as some demonstrators were seen in officers’ faces yelling, “F-the police!”
Matheus said that the event was meant to show gratitude to officer for all of their hard work. He says some of the images that seen from the protests were “really ugly.”
