Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Famed TCU football Head Coach Gary Patterson is under the microscope after a player accused him of using the a racial slur during a weekend practice.

Linebacker Dylan Jordan took his beef to Twitter Monday afternoon about a disagreement he had with his coach over a tweet he had sent about his girlfriend. During that disagreement, Jordan says Patterson called him a “brat,” and said “I’ll send you back to Pitt,” referring to Jordan’s hometown of Pittsburgh, Kansas.”

Jordan added that when he asked what he did wrong, Patterson allegedly said “You’ve been saying ‘n—–s’ in the meeting room.”

Teammates came their coach’s defense saying that he was taken out of context.

In reaction, TCU Chancellor Victor Boschini issued a statement to TCU 360, the student news site.

“Patterson did not use the word against any individual, or group for that matter, on the team. He said it trying to ask the players not to use it anymore. He has since apologized for doing so in this manner and said it was a teachable moment for him and many others.”
