Tarrant County Leaders Can’t Restrict Kenneth Copeland ‘Southwest Believers’ Convention in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- A Southwest Believers’ Convention featuring Televangelist Kenneth Copeland is expected to bring in nearly 3,000 guests to the Fort Worth Convention Center throughout this week.

Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley said they couldn’t stop it because religious events are protected by the Governor’s Order.

However, Whitley says he’s disappointed. “I’ve been watching the live stream and I’m upset about the lack of people wearing masks and there seems to be no emphasis or attempt to ask people to wear a mask,” said Whitley. “These are the kind of things that can cause a spike to occur again,” he said.

Whitley is strongly urging everyone to wear a mask and hopes Copeland will wear one and set the right example moving forward.
