North Texas Counties Reporting Hundreds of New Coronavirus Cases

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – As of Sunday August 9th, Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 843 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, making it the highest daily case count in the last two weeks.

The total confirmed case count in Dallas County is now sitting at 54,674, which includes 755 deaths. In a statement the county also reported over 2,514 children under 18 years of age have been diagnosed with confirmed COVID-19 since July 1st, including 61 children who have been hospitalized for COVID-19.

Tarrant County details the community spread level as “substantial”, with 491 new cases, and one death.

Collin county revealed 215 new cases, but no deaths. Denton county announced 58 new cases on Sunday, no deaths.
