US Gulf Coast Could Be Hit By Side-By-Side Hurricanes Within A Few Days

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The Gulf Coast could be facing a major, double hit this coming week. A pair of tropical storms is forecast to come this way, likely side-by-side, as they grow stronger and become possible hurricanes.   Tropical Storm Marco formed late Friday, south of the Yucatan peninsula. It is now heading more or less straight for the Galveston – Houston area. Tropical Storm Laura formed in the eastern Caribbean, and is now moving into the gulf.  Forecasters project it will hit the U.S. coast more or less at the Mississippi – Alabama state line.  Conditions in the gulf are perfect for hurricanes, so Marco and Laura are expected to get much stronger. They could make landfall as side-by-side hurricanes, possibly late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
