Frisco Fifth Grader’s Artwork to be Featured on Google’s Homepage

FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF)- A North Texas fifth grader’s artwork is being displayed on Google’s homepage for millions of users to see.

Sharon Sara, a fifth grader at Frisco’s Vaughn Elementary, (pictured below, right) won the 2020 ‘Doodle for Google’ national contest.
Sharon says her artwork, illustrates what kindness means to her by encouraging others not to judge someone

by how they look.

“I’ve had people who didn’t want to be my friend because of how I look so I decided to draw what kindness means to me…I make friends based on their personality not just how they look,” she said.

The picture is a group of people with all different skin colors and hair styles, uniting as one by holding hands. Google received thousands of submissions from students across the country ranging from kindergarten through 12th- grade.

Sara will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, and Vaughn elementary will receive $50,000.
