The Metroplex Hits More Than 153,000 Positive COVID Tests

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Coronavirus pandemic continues to loosen its grip on the Lone Star State, as Thursday’s positive test numbers hit below 3,900.  Dallas county reported 143 new positive test results, Tarrant county listed 301, Collin county 100 newly found positives, and Denton county had 91.

62 of Denton county’s positive tests came from active cases of COVID-19. In all, Denton county’s total positive tests is nearing 12,000, Dallas county almost 80,000, Tarrant over 48,000, and Collin county in excess of 13,000 positives.

The Metroplex hit more than 153,000 positive tests for COVID-19, Thursday, while reporting almost 1,900 total virus related deaths.  Texas health officials have conducted nearly 5.9 million tests with nearly 724,000 have been positive, while, over 15,000 Texans have died of Coronavirus complications.

Dallas county reports 1,005 deaths, Tarrant county 643, Collin county 141, and Denton 109 fatalities.  The DFW mortality rate is 1.2%.
