Two Fort Worth Police Officers Under Investigation for ‘Racially Insensitive’ Facebook Post

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- The Fort Worth Police Department is launching an internal investigation regarding a racially insensitive social media post.

Two fort worth police officers are under fire after posting the meme on Facebook. According to screenshots of the since deleted meme, it was a photo of a black man in a casket that says “the face you make when you don’t understand ‘stop resisting.’” The meme was shared from a joint personal Facebook account under the name “Roger-Katie Ballard.”  The Fort Worth Police Department calls it racially insensitive and grossly inappropriate. “The Internal Affairs Unit quickly began an investigation into the matter, which is on-going, and the post was removed.The Fort Worth Police Department holds every officer to a very high standard and any comment, post, or any communication which is racially insensitive and unprofessional will not be condoned in any manner. Our department will continue to hold accountable those who do not meet that standard,” The Department said in a statement.
