North Texas Eclipses a Quarter of a Million Coronavirus Cases

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Metroplex surpassed a quarter of a million Coronavirus cases, Saturday, as almost 4,000 newly confirmed positive tests were reported.

Dallas county erupted for nearly 2,200 cases, Tarrant county almost 1,400, and Denton county 310.  In all, over 117,000 Dallas county residents have been stricken with COVID-19, while more than 90,000 in Tarrant county have tested positive.  Collin and Denton counties are hovering near 22,000 cases each.

Texas saw over 12,500 newly infected residents, Saturday, bringing the statewide case count to more than 1,085,000.  The Coronavirus pandemic has taken the lives of over 20,000 Texans, with just under 2,400 of those occurring in North Texas.

The Lone Star State lost another 171 residents to COVID-19, Saturday.  In Dallas county, nearly 1,200 lives have been lost, while Tarrant county lists 824 fatalities.  Collin county reports 238 deaths, while Denton county shows a death toll of 146.

Nationwide the Coronavirus pandemic has infected over 11.8 million Americans with almost 254,000 deaths.
