(WBAP/KLIF) — The Dallas-Fort Worth area continues to add large numbers of coronavirus cases to the overall infection total. Dallas county reported another nearly 1,700 coronavirus positive tests, Saturday, while Tarrant county listed over 1,300 and Denton county had 389. That brought the metroplex total to nearly 296-thousand cases since the pandemic began.
The Lone Star State reported almost 12,000 new cases of COVID-19, Saturday, of which almost 3,400 were in North Texas. Texas health officials indicate that over 1.2 million positive tests of the Coronavirus have been found among the state’s 29-million residents.
Over 22,500 Texans have died of complications from COVID-19. More than 1,200 Dallas residents have lost their lives, while 872 fatalities have occurred in Tarrant county. Collin county has 277 deaths and Denton county 158.
