
Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – North Texas reported a high number of COVID-19 deaths in its two biggest counties.
Dallas county reports 33 deaths which is the highest one-day death toll since the pandemic began, with patients ranging from 20 to 50.
Tarrant county reported 15 new deaths, including a 17-year-old who officials say is the youngest person in the county to die from the virus.
The teen had underlying health conditions.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins says the deaths are a direct correlation to a spike in cases experienced several weeks ago.
Statewide, Texas reported more than 15,000 new daily cases of the coronavirus amid spikes in cases and hospitalization as winter approaches.
To date (12/10/20 7:50AM), there have been 290,000 US COVID-19 fatalities since the pandemic began.
During the 2019-2020 flu season, 22,000 people died.
Stats are being compiled on an ongoing basis for the current 2020-2021 flu season.
