City of Fort Worth to Host Community Forum for Citizens to Meet Police Chief Finalists

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- The City of Fort Worth is getting closer to selecting it’s new Police Chief.

Assistant City Manager Jay Chapa said after a national search and community surveys, they selected 6 finalists from a pool of more than 50 candidates.

“Being transparent, being community minded, taking care of our officers and employees…These are the top things we heard from the community and these are the top things we are looking for,” said Chapa.

Residents can meet the candidates at a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Fort Worth Convention Center Ballroom, 1201 Houston St. There will be plenty of room for social distancing, and COVID-19 protocols will be in place. The meeting will also be carried live on FWTV, the city’s website and social media.

Residents may submit comments for city management and questions for candidates via FWConnection until Jan. 9.
