(WBAP/KLIF) — Nearly 13,000 COVID-19 positive tests were found in Texas, Monday, with over 8,000 occurring in the Metroplex. North Texas topped 390,000 cases, while Tarrant county’s extended holiday weekend coronavirus numbers showed nearly 6-thousand new positives. That bumped Monday’s new case total to over the 8,000 mark.
Dallas county listed in excess of 1,200 newly infected residents, Collin county 359, and Denton county with 454 new Coronavirus cases. Dallas county also reported 15 additional COVID fatalities, while Denton county listed 11 new deaths. The Metroplex has lost a total of 3,554 residents to the virus.
Of the nearly 1.5 million statewide cases, almost 168,000 are in dallas county, 144,000 in Tarrant county, close to 41,500 in Collin, and over 37,000 in Denton county.
Dallas county leads the North Texas death toll with 1,580, Tarrant 1,425, while Dollin and Denton counties combine for 549 deaths. More than 26,500 Texans have died during the pandemic.
