Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Supreme Court Friday night blocked the city of Austin and Travis County from enforcing orders that restricted bars and restaurants to takeout only during overnight hours. The rules went into effect in Austin on New Year’s Eve, and were scheduled to end Sunday morning. The Supreme Court upheld a request from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton who sued Austin and Travis County in an effort to block the restrictions while the case goes through a legal appeals process.
