CDC Requiring Travelers Into United States To Have Negative COVID Test

MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF)- Travelers returning to the us from aboard will need more than just their passport.

An order from the CDC requires all passengers to provide a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of boarding a plane to the United States beginning January 26.

CDC Chief Dr. Robert Redfield say the new order is done to slow the spread of more contagious variants of COVID-19, which may to be blame for the exponential increase in positive COVID-19 cases across the nation.

Last week, the U.S. reported a single day record of over 314,000 infections reported on Friday.
