Dallas (WBAP / KLIF) An ADT technician has pleaded guilty to hacking home security footage and spying on customers.
After an investigation by the Dallas field office of the FBI, ADT home security tech Telesforo Aviles pleaded guilty to repeatedly hacking into the private video feeds of his customers.
Mr. Aviles now faces up to five years in federal prison according to the Department of Justice.
According to plea papers, the 35-year-old illegally added his personal email address to customers’ ADT Pulse accounts, giving himself real-time access to the video feeds from their homes.
He then admitted to taking note of which homes had attractive women, then repeatedly viewing their footage over a four and a half year period without consent.
