Former Secretary of State George Schultz Dies at Age 100

(ASSOCIATED PRESS)-  Former Secretary of State George Schultz died Saturday at the age of 100 at his home in Stanford, California.  Schultz spent much of the 1980s working to improve relations with the Soviet Union, and working toward peace in the Middle East.

Schultz had a long history as a public service official.  He held three major Cabinet posts in Republican administrations; Labor Secretary, Treasury Secretary under President Richard Nixon before spending more than six years as Reagan’s Secretary of State Schultz, dead at 100, was the oldest surviving cabinet member of any administration
