DESOTO (WBAP/KLIF News) – DeSoto Police are investigating a deadly house fire that claimed the lives of two children.
In a tweet Tuesday, investigators said the fire happened in the 100 block of Wildwood Court near Beltline and South Polk Street.
DeSoto Fire Rescue Chief Jerry Duffield said the children, ages 1 and 2, were trapped on the second floor of the home.
Police asked residents to avoid the area until further notice as officers work the scene amid the investigation.
The Texas Fire Marshals are also investigating the incident.
