TEXAS CITY (WBAP/KLIF News) – An Oregon woman who’s arrest went viral after she refused to wear a mask at a Galveston bank is caught up in scandal again for a similar incident.
Terry Wright was arrested by Texas City police Wednesday morning at an Office Depot on resisting arrest and criminal trespassing charges from an outstanding warrants.
The incident stemmed from a standoff over the business’ mask policy.
KTRK TV reports Office Depot staff asked Wright to either wear a mask or leave the store and she refused, prompting the call to police.
Last Thursday, Galveston police arrested her on similar charges, after she refused to abide by the Bank of America’s mask policy following Governor Greg Abbott’s lifting of the state mask mandate a day earlier.
The incident was caught on the responding officer’s body cam and the video went viral.
Although the state’s mask mandate was lifted, private businesses are still allowed to set their own mask policies.
