Monday was day one of the Derek Chauvin trial in the death of George Floyd. Both sides laid out their cases, and the prosecution’s case is mainly centered on the terrible viral video that a bystander took of the incident, trying to sway the jury on an emotional level. The defense; meanwhile, presented the facts of the case: That Floyd was high on drugs at the time of his arrest, and would’ve died at that same time regardless of whether he was in police custody, or at his home instead.
